Soong Wai Fun, has about 20 years experience in the Information Technology Industry.
Wai Fun started her career in 1983 with Systems & Computer Organisation, which is part of Defence Science & Technology Agency. She maintained and managed various Logistics & Inventory applications including automating almost 30 SAF petrol stations.
In 1988, she joined Esso Singapore where she was responsible for various information systems including the Refinery's Warehousing & maintenance systems, Marketing Systems and Financial Systems. One significant achievement was to implement a revamp of the company's financial systems using SAP.
In 1997, she joined PeopleSoft as an Account Manager, managing several strategic accounts in Singapore. The biggest account managed was Ministry of Finance (MoF) where she worked closely with the customer, MoF, the implementation partner, Accenture, and PeopleSoft consultants, to successfully implement PeopleSoft Public Sector Financials in all the Singapore ministries. She also worked closely with several global accounts who were implementing across several countries. She was awarded Outstanding Contribution Award by PeopleSoft in 1998.
Wai Fun was promoted to Customer Service Manager, where she build a Customer Relationship team which comprises 2 Account Managers to manage customer relationships in the ASEAN region and a Technology team, which comprises a Technical Services Manager and 6 technical consultants, to deliver cost effective services to customers in South Asia.
In 2001, she was promoted to Consulting Services Manager, managing PeopleSoft Consulting Practice of 25 consultants and 2 project managers. The consulting comprise of 3 teams: Financials, Human Resource and Technology. She was responsible for the recruitment and development of the consultants. And she worked closely with Business Development managers to deliver implementation solutions to customers in Asia.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore and a graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis from National University of Singapore-Institute of Systems Science.
Wai Fun is happily married and has 2 daughters.
